Theseo will be looking for his third straight Group 1 win in The BMW on Saturday. The Gai Waterhouse-trained gelding recently won the Chipping Norton Stakes and the Ranvet Stakes, however after drawing the eighth barrier may struggle over the longer staying distance.
Finishing third in the Ranvet Stakes (2000m), Speed Gifted will be looking to make his revenge over Theseo.
Zavite, trained by Anthony Cummings, is another contender for the BMW. Despite drawing the 10th barrier, the seven-year-old is coming off the back of two recent wins – one of which was the Auckland Cup (3200m) proving himself over the staying distance.
Starting from the inside barrier on Saturday is Harris Tweed, while Roman Emperor, trained by Bart Cummings will start from the wide 12th barrier.
Also taking place on Saturday at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse will be four other Group 1 races; the Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m), the Queen of the Turf Stakes (1500m), the George Ryder Stakes (1500m) and the Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m).
