To The World has stamped himself as one of the most promising gallopers in Japan in the past 12 months and many experts believe that the King Kamehameha entire is the best of the four Japanese horses that are currently in Australia for the 2015 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

The four-year-old won the Group 2 Hochi Hai Yayoi Sho (2000m) at Nakayama in March last year and he went on to finish second behind Isla Bonita in the Group 1 Japanese 2000 Guineas (2000m) at the same venue on April 20.

To The World failed to fire in the Group 1 Japanese St Leger (3000m) on October 26, but produced the most impressive performance of his racing career to date when he finished second behind Gentildonna and beat the likes of Gold Ship, Just A Way and Epiphaneia in the Group 1 The Arima Kinen in December last year.

The classy Japanese galloper won’t have things his own way in The BMW and he is likely to face a strong field of talented horses in the $1.5 million event at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

You can find the best odds for To The World and any other runner in the 2015 The BMW field with leading online bookmaker Ladbrokes.com.au.

Protectionist recoded a dominant four lengths victory in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival, but he has failed to replicate that form at weight-for-age level in the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on February 28 and the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington on March 14.

The Monsun entire is sure to be suited by the step-up to 2400 metres in The BMW, but trainer Kris Lees has indicated that the imported galloper is no moral over this trip and may not be able to return to winning form until he contests the Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m) at Royal Randwick on April 4.

All three placegetters from the 2014 Melbourne Cup are set to contest The BMW as both Red Cadeaux and Who Shot Thebarman have also been included in the nominations for the Group 1 event.

Red Cadeaux had his first race start in Australia in a race that wasn’t the Melbourne Cup when he finished a credible fourth behind Spillway in the Australian Cup, while Who Shot Thebarman is tracking towards the Sydney Cup nicely after finishing fifth in the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm on February 28 and the Group 3 Sky High Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 14.

The BMW is one of the few major races in Sydney that have not been won by Chris Waller, but the leading Sydney trainer is likely to have plenty of runners in the Group 1 event after included Beaten Up, Foreteller, Hawkspur, He’s Your Man, Junoob and Opinion in the nominations for the race.

Lucia Valentina, Silent Achiever and Rising Romance all performed well without winning at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday and at this stage all three appear likely to clash in The BMW this weekend.

The 2015 The BMW nominations are rounded out by imported galloper Au Revoir, Australian Cup runner-up Extra Zero, Bruce Waller-trained Fast Dragon, Group 1 winner Fiveandahalfstar, Gai Waterhouse-trained Hampton Court, Godolphin import Hartnell, Bindi Cheers-trained Phrases and tough stayer Self Sense.
